Throughout the ages the human spirit had used and relied on symbols as objects that would represent, stand for, or suggest an idea, visual image, belief, action or material entity. Symbols can take the form of words, sounds, gestures or visual images and are used to convey ideas and beliefs. In the esoteric world symbols have also been used as omens, as objects of meditation, to invoke the protection of the gods or to bring malefic entities into the world.

As human beings we often choose to define ourselves by the symbols that we choose to wear, as they can serve as a powerful reminders for us of who we are, where we came from, what we stand for and what we believe in. They can encourage us to be a force for good in this world, to spread the message of love, life, compassion and forgiveness to ourselves and to others. Ultimately they can help us become awake and aware in order to remember our true inner self.

However, in today’s commercialized world a great number of apparel makers choose to use symbols that inherently carry a negative connotation in order to appear radical, chic or to simply stand out in an already desensitized society. As we are repeatedly exposed to designs that feature questionable graphics representing sex/lust, violence, greed, substance abuse, envy, pride, laziness and over-consumption, etc., these symbols become conditioned and embedded in our thoughts over time and are intentionally used to stir up emotional responses within us. On a subtle level these negative symbols, and the message that is inherent in them, brings disharmony into this world by promoting negative actions and reactions in the emotional and mental states from within us and the people around us.

All symbols carry within them a certain power, energy and vibration, which can affect us and everyone around us at different levels of awareness. We believe that by aligning ourselves with positive symbols that we resonate with, through the process of transference, that symbol’s attributes will manifest and work on us and through us, affecting us in a positive way.

We chose to create our company, Designed To Life, in order to bring awareness to people of the importance of symbolism and the impact that symbols have on our spiritual, mental, emotional and physical being. It is our mission to create positive and spiritually charged designs that will bring harmony, happiness, joy and life to all people. We hope that our designs will inspire positive change in others and make a difference in the world. It is said that whatever thought or emotion you put out into the world it will come back to you exactly as you first proposed it. So let us not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
